I'm Vasi Popovici. I founded Flooring PDX so Portland homeowners could hire a flooring contractor where the owner is actually on the job - not a name on the truck.

What I do
Hardwood floors. Only hardwood floors. Installation, refinishing, sanding, and repair across the Portland Metro and Vancouver area. I don't do kitchens or general remodeling - staying focused on one trade is how we keep the work good.
We also do tiling a bit. But not the rest.
I've been doing this for years and I've seen most of what Portland-area homes throw at hardwood: 1900s Doug fir in Sellwood bungalows, 1980s oak in Beaverton ranches, modern engineered planks in Bethany and Happy Valley builds. Every neighborhood teaches you something.

- General liability insurance and workers' comp - both current; certificates available on request before any job
That's the basic floor (no pun intended) for any flooring contractor in Oregon. Don't hire anyone who can't show you both.
How I run a project
- Free walkthrough. I come to your home, look at every room, and quote a clear range. If you don't actually need the work yet, I'll tell you that too.
- Written estimate, usually within 36 hours. Fixed scope and pricing.
- Moisture and subfloor check before we commit to a schedule.
- Quick updates through the project - photos, texts, real answers when you ask.
- Final walkthrough together before I consider the job done.
